Sehwag, Zaheer return home from Lanka

Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan have returned to India from Sri Lanka ahead of Tuesday’s lone Twenty20 match between the two teams.

Sehwag had missed the fifth and last ODI of the recently concluded series due to a glute injury and had been replaced by Ajinkya Rahane in the eleven.

The dashing Indian hit a highest score of 96 in the series, getting a total of 147 runs at an average of 37.

Zaheer, along with Sehwag, had earlier been ‘rested’ from the Asia Cup, which took place in Bangladesh in March.

The left-arm pace bowler had a middling time in Sri Lanka, picking up just four wickets in five matches.

Zaheer is expected to return to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for training.
